Our Story
The story of our Book Tibet tour begins in 1997, when my father started hosting international travelers to Tibet with a simple dream: to welcome them to Tibet in a way that was honest, personal, and rooted in local Tibetan values. At that time, tourism in Tibet was still developing, but he believed visitors deserved more than just transportation and hotel bookings—they deserved a real connection to the land, its people, and its culture.
In 1998, our agency was officially licensed to operate tours for international travelers, and from there we slowly grew through word of mouth, trust, and long-term relationships with guests from around the world. By 2000, we were already welcoming more than 1,000 travelers per year. For our family, this was more than a number — it was a sign that people appreciated the care, sincerity, and local knowledge we put into every journey.
In 2012, the business passed from father to son, and I was honored to continue what my father built with so much dedication. I grew up around this work, learning not only about travel logistics, but also about the importance of hospitality, patience, and responsibility. For us, this agency is not just a business — it is part of our family history and our way of serving Tibet and the people who come to experience it.

How We Do It
We know Tibet not just as a travel destination but as home, which makes us a better travel partner based in Lhasa and operated by local Tibetans. We understand every aspect of Tibet, from the seasons, the routes, culture, and all the minor details that can contribute to your journey to Tibet being worthwhile, enjoyable, and memorable. Every tour of ours is planned with care, considering high altitude sickness, patience, and respect for both the travelers and the place being visited. Our approach is deeply local.
We are avid believers that Tibet tourism should support the local people and communities in Tibet. For this reason, we work closely with local tour guides, drivers, hotels, family-run guesthouses, restaurants, and small businesses whenever possible to support the local economy. As much as possible, all your tour money goes directly to local Tibetan businesses. So every trip brings value back to the local economy. We also deeply care about eco-friendly travel, as Tibet's natural environment is precious and fragile. We encourage responsible behavior, respect for sacred places, and travel practices that help protect the beauty of Tibet for future generations.
Why We Do It
We are in tourism because we love Tibet, and we believe travel and tourism are a force for good when they are operated responsibly. Our mission is to share the beauty of Tibet with the world, while supporting local families, preserving Tibetan culture, and conserving the environment. We want tourism to create opportunities for the people here, not just for visitors passing through.
For us, every traveler is a guest in our home. That is why we try to offer more than a tour — we offer warmth, trust, and a personal connection. We hope that when guests travel with us, they not only leave with unforgettable memories, but also with a deeper understanding of Tibet and a sense that their journey has helped support the local community in a meaningful way.
